The three track release on Bombaada, “Hungry Ingcuka”, is a plundered brew of turntup ghetto steez, wavey euphoric synths, elastic vocal samples and living-large kwaito energy. Vocals on the track “Sekwa Sithi” come courtesy of Cape Town’s most prominent kwaito crew, the Ruffest, known to the world for their collaborations with LV on the Hyperdub release, Sebenza.
2013 saw Maramza remix the likes of Sibot (released through Jarring Effects) and play at parties such as Cold Turkey and YOH, and this year he has joined the Gravy crew for the Gravy 002 release and has sets confirmed for Design Indaba and Ramfest. But whichever direction things go from here, so long as he has his battered laptop and outdated copy of Cubase, there will always be Maramza to listen and gooi to.

rising from the streets of Cape Town, South Africa, the label decided to create a high quality haven for like-minded electronic producers that might not sound alike, but all carry themselves and their music with similar tone and swagger. A more refined palette, for the more refined bass head. Bombaada nurtures the emerging talents that show promising future prospects, as well as illuminates the path with established heavyweight artists that remain pillars in the South African electronic scene.
